Pat Naessens joined our Wills, Trusts and Estates Practice Group in the summer of 2022. Pat brought more than twenty years of experience administering estates and trusts, many of which involved high net worth individuals and families with family-owned businesses that included large charitable dispositions. He has extensive knowledge of the federal and state tax laws effecting estates, trusts, and individuals, and ample experience preparing those returns. Pat drafts various types of estate planning documents, including Wills, Trusts, Asset Powers of Attorney, and Health Care Powers of Attorney, that are tailored to the unique needs of individuals and families. He takes particular satisfaction implementing remedies to unfavorable or unintended tax, administration, and distribution consequences that sometime arise in estate planning documents for a variety of reasons. Pat also has considerable experience counseling and representing beneficiaries and fiduciaries in Orphans’ Court.
As a result of Pat’s substantial experience administering estates and trusts of all sizes and situations, he understands the difficulties families experience with the death of family members and finds it deeply rewarding assisting them navigate the sometimes difficult and confusing situations that may occur. He firmly believes all individuals and families should have well thought out estate plans in place and is mindful of their financial circumstances.
Pat was raised in the Abington/Glenside area where he currently resides with his family.
Pat worked his way through college graduating from LaSalle University, magna cum laude with a B.A. in History and the Departmental Award. He received his Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law . He received his LL.M. in Taxation from Temple University Beasley School of Law while working in the well-regarded Estates and Trusts Department of a distinguished mid-sized Philadelphia law firm for many years.
Pat is currently admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
