Karen Laughman brings more than 20 years of legal management experience to her role as the Director of Administration at Timoney Knox. She joined the firm in 2014 after serving as a Regional Office Manager for a national labor and employment firm. Karen oversees the daily operations of the firm, including managing workflow, recruiting and supervision of non-attorney staff, human resources, benefits, facilities, insurance, technology, marketing and public relations. She works closely with the firm’s Executive Committee.

Karen began her career in law firm management as an Administrator with a firm in Fairfax, Virginia specializing in community association law. She then joined an insurance defense firm in Washington, D.C. before relocating to Pennsylvania in 2006. Prior to becoming a law firm administrator, Karen worked for several start-up companies in the Washington D.C. area, with roles in operations, human resources, product development, purchasing and marketing.

Karen earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Virginia. She earned the Certified Legal Manager designation from the Association of Legal Administrators in 2017.
