Patrick M. Hitchens joined Timoney Knox as an associate in September 2011.  His current practice is focused on municipal law with attention to tax assessment appeals and civil litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Patrick worked as an associate at a medical malpractice and general liability defense firm in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, where he was responsible for assisting with the defense of medical providers including physicians, radiologists, nursing homes and pharmacies in complex medical cases.  In addition, he was also assigned to assist in the defense of a commonwealth entity in various general liability matters, as well as assisting in several appellate matters.

Patrick earned his law degree from George Mason University, but spent his last year as a visiting law student at Temple University.  Patrick began law school while serving as the correspondence manager and senior legislative correspondent for a U.S. Senator.  While in law school, he was selected to be a member of the moot court board where he and his team one best regional brief at the 2008 American Constitutional Society Constance Motley Baker Competition in Washington, D.C.  Patrick also served as a certified legal intern at the Montgomery County District Attorney's office while in law school.

Patrick received his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Theater from Dickinson College in 2003, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.  He also served as student body president and was active in both campus governance and campus theater.  His academic performance and campus leadership led to his membership in the following honor societies:  Alpha Lambda Delta, a national freshmen honor society; Pi Sigma Alpha, a national political science honor society; and Omicron Delta Kappa, a national leadership honor society.

Patrick is a native of Berks County and is admitted to practice inboth Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  He is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Montgomery County Bar Association.  In his free time, he and his wife, Katharine, work on restoring their late 18th-early 19th century farmhouse that once belonged to the Fitzwater family who traveled to America aboard the ship Welcome with William Penn.
