Mr. Schmidt joined Timoney Knox in April, 2006 as an associate.  He concentrates a high percentage of his work in the field of insurance subrogation.  He has extensive experience in handling commercial and personal property losses and is an active member of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP).  His work also involves a significant percentage of litigation with construction defects, industrial and consumer product failures, personal injury and real estate.  In addition, he acts as counsel for numerous businesses and corporations, handling many responsibilities, including debt collection.  He also handles commercial and residential real estate transactions and leases.  Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Schmidt was an associate with White and Williams, LLP in Philadelphia.  At White and Williams he was an associate in the subrogation/property department, practicing exclusively in the field of insurance subrogation throughout a 21 state territory under the subrogation/property department program.

Mr. Schmidt obtained his undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College, where he was captain of the varsity football team.  Mr. Schmidt earned his law degree from Widener University School of Law.  During law school, Mr. Schmidt was an Assistant Clerk for the Honorable James J. Fitzgerald III of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas.  Following law school, Mr. Schmidt served as a law clerk to the Honorable William R. Carpenter of the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas.  Mr. Schmidt is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Mr. Schmidt is also active in the community.  He is an assistant football coach at his alma mater, LaSalle College High School, and is an Executive Board Member of the Philadelphia Stewards Alliance, whose mission is to promote and bring resources to the five special needs/special education schools run by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
